1974. The company began to produce ready-to-wear men’s suits. Brand Scabal finally subordinates the fashion industry.

1973. A major step towards the success of Scabal is the purchase of a large Yorkshire factory, Wainshiell. Touching the origins and glorious traditions of the impeccable English style, the company began to actively develop and create fabrics that have no analogues.

Scabal was founded in 1938 by an entrepreneur from Germany, Otto Hertz. He opened a small private manufactory for the production of fabrics for men’s clothing.

In the beginning, only three people worked at the company, not counting its creator, Otto Hertz and his closest companion, J.-P. Thissen. Such a modest staff was explained simply: Scabal initially did not count on the quantity its products but their quality. Later this decision will become the motto of the company and will be its philosophy: "We never economize on fabric."
