“The Nanushka girl doesn’t care about other people’s opinions, she respects her inner comfort and freedom.”
“I grew up in a city where East meets West. This duality influenced my personality and the vision of my design.” Sandra Sandor, designer.
Trousers, sweaters, tops, cardigans, coats, jackets, and knitted dresses are made out of cotton, silk, and wool with special attention to the quality of fabrics and details.
In 2019, a menswear line was launched, maintaining all the principal features of the brand and its values.
The brand is famous for its eco-leather, a proprietary innovative material that mimics the structure of natural leather, but is created by applying polyurethane to a textile base in compliance with Cruelty Free standards.
One of the main directions of Nanushka is sustainability and the control of environmental issues throughout the entire production chain. The brand also supports artisanal craftsmen, recruiting craftswomen for a variety of handcrafted techniques while maintaining tradition.
Idea
Sandor’s diploma work was dedicated to the Bauhaus artists, one of whose mottos became the slogan for her brand: “Form follows function.” Nanushka clothes are remarkable, bright and unusual, but, just as important, they are very comfortable. You don’t need to rack your brains over them, wondering what they could be mixed with.
In a sense, this is a boring basic wardrobe, appropriate for almost any situation. The current men’s collection includes excellent knitwear, for which the brand is especially loved, branded eco-leather shirts in red, and classic double-breasted plaid jackets.
“I believe that when you are comfortable, then you feel more attractive and relaxed. Clothes should inspire you, not limit you,” Sandor said.
