The British fashion brand, founded by Jonathan Anderson in 2008, at first targeted a male audience and in 2010 expanded its product to womenswear.
In September 2013, LVMH appoints Anderson as the new creative director of the Spanish luxury fashion house Loewe.
Currently, JW Anderson produces products for both women and men.
The designer is famous for his accessories line and bags. The brand’s collection includes the legendary Anchor, Keyts, and Wedge models, as well as the Cap Bag in the shape of a baseball cap. Later, a Punch bag and a Lid with a large, gilded steel chain were added to the collection.
Anderson won the love of customers from around the world thanks to his bold experiments with cuts, prints and fabrics. The designer works with volumes and silhouettes: loose, flowing gowns, trench coats with large collars, blouses with voluminous sleeves and an asymmetric cut, silk capes, wide leg trousers and skirts, and oversized Bermuda shorts, complete with jackets. Anderson’s creations are well known by their high quality: he uses wool from a manufacturer in Scotland and Jonathan himself creates fabrics by mixing lurex, wool, and lamé.
JW Anderson clothing is sold at Barneys, Opening Ceremony, Dover Street Market, and Jeffrey in the US, at Dover Street Market, Selfridges, Harrods, Le Bon Marche, and Printemps in Europe, and at Joyce, Isetan and 10 Corso Como in Asia.
